2018 Spring/Summer Beauty Trends to Try!
The 2018 spring summer beauty trends are here and boy am I excited. It’s as if the NYFW designers have been reading my journal with these trends. (No, I don’t actually keep a journal about makeup, that’d be weird right?)
But, these trends are all my favorite things! Check out this list of the 2018 spring beauty trends you need to try!
When Bad Girl Riri (Rhianna) released Fenty Beauty’s pure gold Trophy Wife highlighter, the beauty world went crazy.
While this yellow-gold highlighter is a bit much for everyday makeup, it’s stunning for a night out or as eyeshadow. And, as you may have read, Fenty Beauty was created to work on diverse skin tones with 40 shades of foundation and highly pigmented multi-use powders. Trophy Wife is the latter and can be used as an eyeshadow, light shimmer on the cheeks, or In-your-face blinding highlight.

When I first saw that “Upside Down” eye makeup is a 2018 trend, I was very confused. After some further research, I quickly realized it is lower lash color.
Adding a pop of color to the lower lash area spices up any look. And it is a simple look to achieve. Just add a bright eyeliner to the lower lid and smudge with some shadow or leave it as a sharp line.
Janelle Monáe has perfected the look so check out her many looks for ideas.
Bold, matte lips have had their day. And while I do LOVE a good liquid lipstick, I’m ready for lip gloss to make a comeback.
The beauty world is touting “glass lips” as the spring 2018 trend to try. Thick, glossy, and even glittery lips are all the rage.

I love glitter. I love glitter on my eyes, hair, lips, anywhere really. But I do realize I am the exception instead of the norm.
A lot of people are hesitant to use glitter for a few reasons. My clients over 30 worry it is “too young” looking and will age them and others may find it too hard to work with.
Worry not. Here’s how to wear glitter makeup as an adult. And, cosmetic lines heard everyone loud and clear and created glitter products that are easy to use.
Stila Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow, Lemonhead Los Angeles glitter paste, or Colourpop Supershock Ultra Glitter eyeshadow.
Why is it when we talk about red lipstick, it’s always “A red lip?” as if we only have one. While I don’t understand the jargon I do understand why red lipstick always reappears as a trend. And at NYFW the trend was bold red lips with minimal eye makeup- a look that is classic and effortless. My two favorite reds are, MAC Retro Matte Ruby Woo and Anastasia Beverly Hills American Doll.
